Bangladesh thrash West Indies by 120 runs, win series by 3-0. The entire series it never felt like the West Indians were a match to the home team. Although they were without a few of their big players, no one expected them to be defeated so convincingly in all the 3 matches. West Indies need to do a lot better than this to even give a fight to the hosts in the test matches.

Brief Scores:

Bangladesh 297-6(50 overs). Mahmudullah 64(43), M Rahim 64(55), T Iqbal 64(80), A Joseph 2/48, R Reifer 2/61.

West Indies 177-10(44.2 overs). R Powell 47(49), N Bonner 31(66), M Saifuddin 3/51, M Hasan 2/18.

Man of the Match- Mushfiqur Rahim

Man of the Series- Shakib al Hasan

West Indian captain Jason Mohammed won the toss and righty chose to field first. The pitch has usually been faborable for chasing here at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram, Bangladesh. But apart from the toss nothing really went right for the visitors.

3 Bangladesh batsmen had identical score of 64

Captain Tamim Iqbal gave a steady start to Bangladesh. He along with Shakib al Hasan made a strong partnership for the third wicket which paved the way for a huge score on the board. Then when they were dismissed, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyaz both made quickfire knocks of 64.

The wicket was sluggish and it did not possess the ideal bounce for huge runs to be scored. Thus 297 was a very high total on this wicket. The West Indian batsmen were not up to the challenge. It seemed like there was no intent from their batsmen. None of the batsmen could stitch a decent partnership together.

As a result, they were bowled out for just 177. For Bangladesh, Mohammad Saifuddin picked up 3 wickets. While the other bowlers also chipped in with a wicket or two. With this win, Bangladesh grabbed another 10 points in the World Cup Super League.

Shakib al Hasan gives brilliant all-round performance in comeback series.

Shakib al Hasan was adjudged Man of the Series. He scored 113 runs at an average of 56.50. He also picked up 6 wickets. Thus it was an all-round performance in his comeback to international cricket.Bangladesh win series by 3-0 .
