IPL2020 : KKR vs RR Match Preview and Predication XI
Only one of Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders can get to 14 points and 14 points doesn’t guarantee a top 4 finish. Tonight will be a fight for hope for both these teams who are on opposite ends of the form spectrum. RR are peaking at the right time whereas KKR seem to have no clear plans.
RR- Chasing Down Tatgets
223, 185, and 195 are the three highest scores to be chased down successfully this season and all of these have been done by Rajasthan Royals, two of them in their last two games. Suddenly, RR’s batting looks one of the best in the competition with Smith, Samson and Buttler at 3,4 and 5. There is also Tewatia and Archer to provide the impetus at the death if need arises.
RR desperately need to fill the gaps in their bowling department. They have been finding support for Archer ever since the tournament started. Ben Stokes bowled 4 overs and took 2 wickets in the last game and also bowled economically. With the other pacers like Tyagi, Aaron and Unadkat leaking runs, it lies in the best interest of RR to give Stokes the 4 overs.
KKR – A Season Of Inconsistency
KKR this season have won some games, albeit not very convincingly. They have won maximum 2 games at a stretch and never looked like a settled unit. Things have not changed coming into the last league game. Apart from Archer, RR are thin on quality bowling but does KKR have that batting to exploit that? Rana and Gill did well in the last game but the two captains – Karthik and
Morgan have disappointed the fans.
Too Many Gaps To Fill In The Bowling
KKR’s poor form can be easily associated with Russell and Narine. Their poor forms coupled with their exclusion from the playing eleven cost KKR. They have been their go-to players in the last seasons but have fallen flat this year. Pat Cummins tried to be the kind of all-rounder KKR needed but his bowling has been way below par. Ferguson proved to be a one match wonder and nothing since. Barring Chakravarthy, the Indian bowlers – Nagarkoti, Prasidh, Mavi and Kuldeep haven’t been impressive either.
