CSK batsman set a commendable total.
At the Dubai International Stadium skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. Much to the surprise of the viewers CSK opened with Sam Curran and Du Plessis. Although Du plessis got out for a duck, Curran took advantage of the powerplay as he scored 31of 21 balls. Once Sam Curran got out the experienced duo of Watson 42(38) and Rayudu 41(34) joined in and set up a 90+ run partnership. Dhoni and Jadeja joined together in the death overs and immediately started slogging. MSD scored 21(13) while Jadeja finished with 25(10). CSK eventually finished with a commendable total of 167/6. Sandeep Sharma of SRH picked 2/19.
Kane Williamson the lone warrior for SRH
Chasing a stiff total SRH lost Warner and Pandey early. Williamson and Bairstow 23(24) tried to set up the chase but the latter departed in the 9th over. Williamson though kept fighting on the other end. There were small contributions from Priyam Garg 16(18) and Shankar 12(7) but that wasn’t enough. Williamson 57(39) too departed in the 17th over trying to match the required rate on a sticky Dubai pitch. Although Rashid Khan tried his best scoring 14 of 8 balls but that wasn’t enough. As SRH finished at 147/8 & lost the match by 20 runs. Bravo picked 2/25 whereas leggie Karn Sharma picked 2/37. With this win CSK now have 6 points placed at 6th position on the table.
