Virat Kohli the lone warrior with the bat.

RCB skipper Virat Kohli won the toss in the South Indian derby of RCB vs CSK and opted to bat first. As RCB lost Aaron Finch in the 2nd over skipper Virat Kohli joined young Padikkal and stitched in a partnership. But then RCB kept on loosing wickets at regular intervals with Kohli being the lone warrior who remained unbeaten at 90(52). Padikkal, Sundar and Dube too chiped in with small contributions. Surprisingly De Villiers got out for a duck. Due to which RCB finished at 169/4. CSK pacers were quiet economical throughout the innings except to the death overs.

CSK continues it’s struggle with the bat.

In reply CSK batters never looked comfortable at the crease as both the openers departed in the powerplay. Rayudu and debutant Jagadeesan tried to steady the ship as they set up a 64 run partnership. And just when it looked like these two were taking the game away. RCB again made a strong comeback by picking few crucial wickets. Likes of MSD, Sam Curran and Ravi Jadeja couldn’t contribute much with the bat. As CSK finished at 132/8 and lost the South Indian Derby by 37 runs. Ambati Rayudu was the top scorer with 42(40). Chris Morris and Sundar were the pick of bowlers as they finished with figures of 19/3 and 16/2 respectively.
